Promoting support for the regional settlement of outstanding foreign startup teams and revitalization of the regional startup ecosystem
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS, Minister OH Youngju) announced that on October 16, 2024 (Wednesday), it held a regional startup ecosystem briefing for foreign entrepreneurs at the Global Startup Center (GSC) in Seoul.
 
This briefing was conducted to introduce the regional startup ecosystem and support systems for outstanding foreign entrepreneurs, including teams participating in the 2024 K-Startup Grand Challenge, in order to encourage their settlement in the region and revitalize the local startup ecosystem.
 
The MSS introduced the startup ecosystems of four Creative Economy Innovation Centers in Gyeongnam, Ulsan, Jeonbuk, and Chungbuk, along with various local startup support programs, including open innovation programs, customized education and mentoring, and investment attraction support.
 
During the following networking session, over 60 participants, including foreign entrepreneurs and personnel from support organizations, engaged in open communication while consulting on the previously introduced regional startup support programs and settlement support systems.
 
CHO Gyeong-won, Director General of Startup Policy at the MSS stated, “This briefing was organized to enhance the understanding of the regional startup ecosystem among outstanding foreign entrepreneurs,” and added, “MSS will continue to strive to promote the settlement of capable foreign entrepreneurs in the region.”
